Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Capture images in an authentic and ethical manner
Write copy, captions or headlines to accompany photos
Use image-editing software such as Photoshop to edit images for print or online publication
Pitch ideas for photographs to editorial staff
Travel to photo shoot locations
A Bachelor's degree in mass communication, or any related discipline
At least five years’ working experience with a reputable print media organisation.
Be creative, with an eye for good images for capture
Have excellent technical and photographic skills
Have good communication and people skills
Have good IT skills, especially with computer programmes such as Photoshop and other photo editing software
Be commercially aware and good at marketing themselves.
Ability to work under pressure and beat deadlines
Ability to work without supervision
Networking ability with peers and a comprehensive photo portfolio will be an added advantage.
