Job Description

To oversee engineering disciplines to ensure that all project tasks and deliverables are delivered on time and within budget 

Manage project engineering changes and change requests, minimising the impact on project objectives, and maximising commercial output to CB&I 

Ensure that all emerging engineering issues are dealt with expediently to facilitate project execution with minimal disruption 

Ensure that all engineering technical project documentation is released on time, in format, and is consistent with quality standards 

Ensure that client queries are acted upon quickly, facilitating to minimise the impact on project objectives 

Ensure all reporting is completed to required standards, and on time 

Ensure that subcontractors deliver according to agreed schedule and scope 

Manage emerging issues from subcontractors and manage changes with minimal disruption to overall project objectives 


· Understand contractual requirements and communicate to the Engineering Team 

· Coordinate efforts of the design team 

· Focal point for technical issues/coordination between CB&I, Supplier, Fabrication, Construction and Client 

· Address and resolve scope cost changes and schedule impact issues with the Project Manager 

· Communicate scope and design changes to the Project Team 

· Ensure achievement of safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives 

· Actively support constructability program and communicate constructability issues to discipline engineers 

· Support the operability and maintainability programs 

· Coordinate development of construction subcontract scope packages 

· Address Engineering personnel performance issues 

· Arrange and lead Project Engineering critique at project closure 

· Schedule and coordinate design and safety reviews 

· Ensure Document Management supports the projects needs 

· Development and coordination of Engineering subcontracts 

· Development of the Engineering execution plan 

· Monitor quantity forecasting and trending 

· Development and management of the detailed engineering schedule 

· Development and management of the engineering staffing plan 

· Communicate staffing needs to functional management. 

· Management of the engineering schedule and budget reporting to the Project Manager 

· Coordinate Equipment List 

· Development and management of the Technical Query and Deviation Request Processes 

· Expedite the flow of technical information 

· Maintain the engineering action items list 

· Management / resolution of the Design Change program 

· Coordinate requisitions 

· Facilitate communication between discipline leaders 

· Actively manage the engineering work hour budget 

· Support the subcontract plan 

· Manage engineering lessons learned program through project duration 

· Assist with project closeout and turnover of deliverables to Client 


Chartered Engineer 

Degree Educated – Essential 

Post graduate project management training and qualifications – Desirable
