Global Real Estate is responsible for a number of services including property acquisition and disposal, management of all capital projects related to Real Estate and any capital project over 1m.
The Project Manager role is required to support the UK & Ireland region team as part of Global Real Estate and as required the wider EMEIA area. This supplements an existing Project Manager position in Global Real Estate.
The driver for internal project management resource is based on both the scale of projects in the Real Estate function as well as the need to hold a client lead role in management of the programme in order to provide both continuity and governance across all capital programmes.
Projects will cover all of UK & Ireland and the selected candidate will be expected to travel as part of their management role of any assigned projects. Furthermore it is expected the Project Manager will provide direct support to the Head of Real Estate as required in management of their responsibilities.
The key area of responsibility is in ensuring the successful delivery of projects as assigned by the Real Estate Leader both in programme, budget and acceptance criteria. The Project Manager will ensure a single control and reporting is in place for all workstreams, and manage the liaison between the business the project on all matters. Adherence with EY’s design standards is critical to overall project success
•Management of the overall programme for the project tracking all related third parties performance to programme addressing within the team as appropriate or flagging for escalation and contractual resolution where necessary.
•Providing formal progress across all assigned projects and ensuring completion of project documentation
•To engage with all related EY service managers on their respective areas to ensure early engagement and ability to provide design input as appropriate
•Track and manage all project risks and issues and ensuring appropriate highlight reports are raised with relevant stakeholders
•Manage the overall budget for the project, ensuring sub-assigned budgets are maintained within agreed levels and all opportunities for value enhancement or value engineering as considered during the programme
•Support Procurement in the associated tasks of specifying consultant appointments to enable project delivery
•Attendance and support in any tendering processes
•Ensuring key objectives for each project are delivered on time and to the satisfaction of the agreed stakeholders and line with any associated acceptance criteria
•Tracking and raising any resource allocation challenges on projects and engaging with the Real Estate Leader as required
•Owning the project lifecycle including areas such as initial tax analysis on budgets, project closure, lessons learned sessions, budget reconciliation and finalisation of accounts
•Chair (or participate) in team, supplier and client meetings as appropriate
•Ensure best practice and external knowledge is maintained and shared with key stakeholders and direct reports. Apply best practice techniques as appropriate.
Quality, Environment, Safety and Health (QUENSH):
•Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and safe systems of work for all areas within this project through regular engagement with the Enterprisk Risk team.
•Ensure appropriate control measures are in place to mitigate any BCP incidents or building outages
•Agree appropriate environmental targets with UK Environment manager on each project and ensure delivery or escalation where issues in delivery are experienced
•Strong influencing skills and an ability to engage within all levels of the firm
•Experience of managing projects in a large partnership / financial institution
•An good understanding of the principals of fitting out offices and refurbishment of spaces
•A good understanding of technical design matters including HVAC, small power and lighting
•Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and motivate multi-disciplinary team
•Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies
•Excellent IT skills with a detailed understanding of MS Project and MS Excel
•Prince 2 qualified (Foundation level)
•Good understanding of statutory compliance (eg, Health & Safety) and current legislation
