Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) are currently looking to hire a first rate Project Manager to join our Chinook Through Life Customer Support programme based out of Yeovil. This role will report to the TLCS Programme Manager, and will be responsible for: Leading others and directing multiple projects within the Chinook Through Life Customer Support Programme, through proposal preparation, execution and project closure. Demonstrating proficiency in all project management areas in accordance with project management standards in the industry. Identifying and managing project objectives and requirements, ensuring all assigned individuals are executing the identified and assigned tasks, providing appropriate tracking and reporting relative to the baseline plan and meeting project objectives and requirements within agreed cost and schedule. Providing in-depth analysis of the project, culminating with lessons learned and historical reports for incorporation into future project plans. Providing assessment of team performance to appropriate management. Manages execution performance of all assigned project team and suppliers. Ensures assigned individuals are executing identified tasks and providing appropriate tracking and reporting per plan. Responsible for project risk, issue and opportunity management. This role would ideally suit a seasoned Project Manager, with some strong experience from within the defence sector. Rotorcraft experience is not a prerequisite, but would be welcomed.
Acts as business unit subject matter expert and develops and leads business unit level project plans and creates new processes for enterprise application.
Applies industry standards and any available data source for best practices, lessons learned, historical and forecast data to perform trend, earned value and variance analyses to create a baseline project plan.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to listen, assimilate, evaluate and summarise.
Interfaces and negotiates with project stakeholders including Customers and Suppliers to establish and agree project baselines, control changes and resolve issues.
Qualified to degree level preferably in Engineering or Business fields, or equivalent.
Membership of Association of Program Managers (APM) would be advantageous.
Track record of achievement and success in defence engineering project management preferably in the helicopter domain.
Broad experience in the management of technical projects through the whole lifecycle from requirements definition, proposal preparation and negotiation and project implementation through to completion.
Experienced in leading and management Integrated Project Teams to meet cost, schedule and performance commitments.
Proven ability to lead and manage multiple, disparate technical projects and to schedule and prioritise own workload.
