Job Description



Reporting to the Store Operations Manager, the Retail Designer develops the design and tender documentation for multiple simultaneous projects - new stores and renovations- across the region (UAE, KSA, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain).


Design development process:

  • Coordinate with internal and external clients and define & align on their design requirements (e.g. mall management, real estate team, commercial department , category management and Marketing)
  • Chack if LOD is complete and ensure all measurements have been provided for drawings to be appropriate and adequate
  • Issue manual drawings with all required details
  • Coordinate with Store Operations Manager  the development of overall design concepts – from concept stages to the final design (includes preparations of plans, sections, elevations, details etc. within given project schedule)
  • Produce all necessary architectural documents, shop drawings and construction drawing sets
  • Ensure all designs are in line with Sephora store guidelines and are reflecting Sephora brand DNA
  • Manage design approval process with internal clients , international Sephora head office in Paris  and mall management
  • Develop tendering documentation
  • Handover final design to retail architect and projects team and ensure the team has all relevant information and ability to execute projects


Development of Retail Design Strategy

  • Compile organized concept design portfolio and develop yearly project book ( develop Sephora Middle East Retail Strategy)
  • Environment survey through market visits, competitor and supplier analysis to always remain up-to-date  about latest retail trends


Quality Control:

  • Prepare samples and source required materials
  • Validate all materials used in submission file
  • Define criteria for evaluation of material
  • Develop and maintain close business relationship with relevant suppliers



  • More than 5 years’ experience in architectural design in retail environment
  • Degree  in Interior Design or Architecture
  • Project/Construction Management certification such as PMP
  • Proficient in use of AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Office Applications
  • Fluency in English language
  • Creative, innovative and have analytical and problem solving skills
