The Retail Store Manager - Fashion will be responsible for running one of their stores, meeting company’s targets and policies. He will ensure that promotions are accurate and merchandised to the company’s standards, staff is fully versed on the target for the day and excellent customer care standards are met. He / she will also be expected to maximize profit while minimizing costs.

The responsibilities for this office shall include but is not limited to the following:
 Analysing sales figures and forecasting future sales volumes to maximize profits
 Managing stock levels and making key decisions about stock control
 Analysing and interpreting trends to facilitate planning
 Managing and motivating the sales team to increase sales and ensure efficiency
 Touring the sales floor regularly, talking to colleagues and customers, and identifying or resolving urgent issues
 Using information technology to record sales figures, for data analysis and forward planning;
 Dealing with staffing issues such as interviewing potential staff, conducting appraisals and performance reviews, as well as providing or organizing training and development
 Ensuring standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met
 Resolving health and safety, legal and security issues
 Responding to customer complaints and comments
 Promoting the organization locally by liaising with local schools, newspapers and the community in general
 Organizing special promotions, displays and events; attending and chairing meetings
 Updating colleagues on business performance, new initiatives and other pertinent issues
 Maintaining awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring what local competitors are doing
 Initiating changes to improve the business, e.g. revising opening hours to ensure the store can compete effectively in the local market

Qualifications and experience
 University degree in a commercial/business related subject
 Minimum of 5-8 years experience in multiple chain store environment or retail Sales/Marketing in the FMCG Sector
 Strong commercial understanding of business issues/opportunities
 Good grasp of retail strategies and planning issues
 Results oriented, entrepreneurial and self-motivated
 Tenacious and resilient, driven to achieve even when faced with obstacles
 Very strong managerial, leadership and interpersonal skills
 Strong analytical skills with ability to develop strategies and tactics as well as implementation skills
 Ability to think outside the box
 Must have excellent communication & negotiation skills at all levels and demonstrate a high level of initiative
 Should be honest and hardworking
 High proficiency in MS Office applications
 Team oriented and outgoing
