Job Description

Our client, one of the larger African Mining Operators, is looking for a Customer Relationship and Logistics Manager to oversee their logistics and order management activities within the Middle East.
This is an opportunity to work for one of the larger industrial mineral mining companies. Our client has operations in Africa with a large employee base. With a regional office based in Dubai, our client is known for contributing to the welfare of its employees and improving their standard of living as well as servicing global markets at cost-effective prices for various industrial minerals.
As a Sales and Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for managing the sales/business development, full logistics, and customer relationships of the company.
Reporting into the Managing Director, your main responsibilities will include:
• Negotiating sales deals with customers and following up on a regular basis.
• Manage orders, contracts, and original documentation for exports.
• Arrange the logistics to meet shipping deadlines and liaise with shipping agents and port agents on necessary documentation.
• Liaise with customers on payments as well as address shipping or quality issues to maintain a strong business relationship.
• Ensure you are up to speed with industrial mineral market trends and analyze world statistics for such minerals.
In addition, you will be responsible to attend industry specific conferences, visit customers annually, and seek new markets/opportunities for the company.
This role requires substantial travel to Africa.


The successful candidate for this Sales and Logistics Manager role, must have:
• A Bachelors degree, preferably in Logistics or Supply Chain.
• A minimum of 5 years experience in supply chain within the mining or minerals industry.
• A strong background in sales/business development with customers/distributors in the mining/minerals industry.
• Strong team management experience as well as good leadership and communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
Candidates based in the UAE are preferred.
