Job Description

To be responsible for the performance of the Groups conversion team and ensure seamless processes with the Event Management Team to ensure all group events, leads and inquiries are:

  • Promptly responded to, professionally handled and qualified
  • Successfully negotiated and confirmed in the shortest possible time thereby given the sales force and clients the ability to close the deal at the very earliest
  • Total hotel revenue yield is maximized and budgets achieved through savvy management of price and space control
  • Ensuring a thorough and detailed handover of information to Event Management Team  with the requisite and relevant information which not only allows the event to be executed but additional and relevant information that can allow the event team to create further “Moments of Delight”


Role Overview – Human Resource Responsibility

  • Develop and maintain a high performing sales force based on Jumeirah leadership competencies and core values
  • Inspire, lead and manage the Conversion team based on each team member’s motivational “drivers” and in accordance with Jumeirah performance management process
  • Support personal and professional growth of employees through tools such as annual self-assessments, annual performance reviews, midyear reviews, Individual Development Plans (IDP)
  • Provide frequent feedback to support the team remaining focused on goals and objectives through quarterly business performance reviews (team, segments and individual)
  • Effectively manage up/sideward’s within the Hotel’s organization to “work better together” and manage internal relationships in a strategic manner, similar to customer relationships with the aim to achieve Hotel’s common objectives


Role Overview – Business Responsibility

  • Leads and directs the Team on day to day activities
  • Meets with the Events Management Team on a weekly basis to ensure that all event files are seamlessly handed over, constantly upgrades the standard and effectiveness of the communication
  • Evolves and stylizes the written communications through the offer letters which are reflective of the premium positioning of the hotel
  • Pro-actively promotes through the communication, the other facilities of the hotel selling constantly towards achieving client’s key needs
  • Presents enticing and manageable value added benefits for the hotel to accord guests rather than adopting a discount policy and attempts to entice customers to buy more of hotel’s services beyond the core rooms and breakfast offers (i.e. food & beverage, spa services, club access, etc.)
  • Tracks and measures the performance of the team through the use of corporate initiated productivity tracking tool (i.e. Sales Person Productivity Tool) or any other programs (manual or electronic) that the hotel adopts
  • Produces a month end report which shows the average conversion percentages of the team and the key cost/turndown reasons
  • Have excellent product knowledge including functions space, audio-visual equipment, capacities, guest room inventory, room rates and menus
  • Attend yield meetings and prepares revenue forecast for group revenue and catering revenue
  • Be responsible for generating exemplary results from within the Events team from Quality Track-Group Shop Call Results
  • To support and lead site inspections requested by customers
  • Ensure that all SOP’s are adhered to and the scores are reflective of the professionalism received by the guests

  • Must have solid overall sales background in the five star luxury hotel industry including a good understanding of all key segments
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years in a groups conversion sales role

  • Must be guest/customer, market focused, & team focused and able to Influence people
