Reporting to the Principal Combat Systems Engineer and working closely with the Chief Combat Systems Engineer, the successful candidate will be educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline; Chartered Engineer status and a post graduate qualification are desirable, as is evidence of Continuous Professional Development.
The successful candidate will be experienced in and be knowledgeable of policies and procedures for the requirements formulation, design, integration, trials, and acceptance of Maritime Combat Systems, with particular expertise in Submarine systems. A broader experience of systems engineering and/or other domains is desirable. You will also be familiar with the through life capability management and in service support of maritime combat systems, and the challenges presented by the desire to exploit modular open system architectures.
Ideally you will have experience of MoD procurement procedures and experience in project management, requirements and specification management, configuration and design change management, and the organisation and conduct of trials would also be an advantage. Experience in report writing and technical presentation is essential.
