Job Description

AECOM has been awarded a contract for construction management services for the new world class Midfield Terminal Complex at Abu Dhabi International Airport, U.A.E. The contract will see us take responsibility for many aspects of the construction of the Midfield Terminal Building which will be a 700,000m2 terminal building as well as the associated air and landside infrastructure required. We are looking to recruit a Senior Estimator for this project. The incumbent is responsible in preparing estimates and to supervise staff. This individual is accountable to provide accurate, consistent and reasoned cost advice for a variety of projects that consist of envelope works. The responsibility is to manage the work commitments and priorities of those staff under his/ her direction and to coordinate with the client and program/ project teams to ensure requirements are met. In addition, the successful candidate is responsible for providing expert knowledge of estimations for large and complex projects and has specific knowledge of envelope works of all disciplines, including glass systems, structural and aluminum works.

  • Coordinating, supervising and checking the work of staff.
  • Providing subject matter expertise.
  • Reviewing and analyzing cost information from various sources.
  • Producing budgets from conceptual plans and specifications.
  • Preparing benchmarking studies to assess the cost effectiveness of designing proposals.
  • Preparing detailed cost breakdown of components and elements for systems and subsystems.
  • Preparing Bills of Quantities and other tender documentation.
  • Preparing pre-tender estimates to forecast the most probable tender price.
  • Analyzing tender returns, recommend negotiating points and participating directly in negotiations.
  • Preparing value engineering cost estimates to assess the significance of potential opportunities.
  • Reviewing third party estimates from constructors and consultants
  • Negotiating, agree and prepare the final settlement with the Contractor
  • Preparing the monthly payment recommendation.
  • Preparing the monthly program/ project reports and presentations.
  • Collecting, analyzing and populating the cost database with historical project and cost data.
  • Supporting strategic decision-making through data capturing, analysis and reporting.
  • Implementing and follow Quality Management System, policies, procedures, and templates.
  • Performing other job-related duties as required.
