Job Description

Sr. Master Systems Integration (MSI) Manager– Responsible for managing the master system integrator, and stakeholder requirements while developing and maintaining the reports, processes and documents for the New Mid-Field Terminal at Abu Dhabi International Airport. Providing leadership and expertise to ADAC and other Abu Dhabi Airport client groups as part of the Program Management Organization (PMO).
Reports to: Senior Program Manager / SVP


  • Facilitates meetings with users, designers/consultants, Construction Management Team and the contractor to identify IT and security interface requirements. Users may be airlines, ADAC or other government agencies. Document all through a requirements capture report that then generates specific technical requirements and interfaces. 
  • Present to users general concepts of different operational models for similar sized airports highlighting their advantages. Assist users in defining the operational model and document this as part of the general Concept of Operation (CONOPs) document
  • Periodically perform an airport process analysis to identify additional areas of potential data types for retention and use in the Airport Operational Database (AODB) as part of the Concept of Operation (CONOPs) effort.
  • Develop and maintain the Information Technology (IT) Model that defines the information integration required between airport subsystems.
  • Develop and implement the Interface Control Working Group (ICWG) meeting structure to formalize the completion of integration definition between subsystems.
  • Assist MSI contractor in the development of the data exchange formats and mode, ensuring system stability and reliability of the information.
  • Maintain the interface requirements specification as they are further developed by the contractor through the ICD to achieve the integrated system operation.
  • Monitor systems integration efforts, record results, and acquire sign-off from appropriate resources.
  • Manage and review MSI System Contractor Submittals and RFI(s) and verify adequacy of response and inter-disciplinary input. Also manage the review of the designer/consultant’s review of the ICT/Security system contractor submittals prior to return to the Contractor.
  • Evaluate technology and provide professional opinions.
  • Participates in the review and approval of proposed ICT systems subcontractors and proposed system architecture and equipment.
  • Assist in validation of testing and commissioning, start-up, record drawings and post-occupancy evaluations.
  • Support Client's efforts in training and activation of IT systems.
  • Verify compliance of IT and Telecommunications standards.
  • Monitor schedule and cost of the project for contractual compliance and interfaces with other projects.
  • Verify completion of work performed considering time and budget.
  • May provide technical guidance to lower-level IT personnel assigned to project.
  • Keeps abreast of current and newly-developing technologies.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
  • Communicate and educate stakeholders, both internal and external to IT, on the primary components of the IT integration strategy, technology standards and business model
  • Development of integration test procedures.




The ideal candidate should have a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering with a minimum of 12 years experience, at least 7 of which should demonstrate a lead role in a minimum of two (2) major airport projects (similar size, budget and number of systems) for the integration of Special Airport and Information Technology Systems for the development of business cases and operations plans. The candidate should also have proven successful experience in more than one large ‘green field’ airport project planning, designing and managing the integration for more than 13 subsystems through an information broker type of interface. Project management experience, especially projects in transportation




Requires a thorough understanding of current software applications, IT systems, networking, and technology. Knowledge of airline reservation, IT systems and security/airport operations. Conducted the above described ‘job description’ type of tasks for most of the following airport special systems & security systems: CCTV, ACS, dynamic signage, FIDS/BIDS, CUTE, CUSS, AODB, WLAN, DAS, RMS, PA, IPTV, VOIP, BMS, SCADA and FA. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with user and IT colleagues on technical and non-technical subjects.

Will be required to comply with project safety requirements and walk on construction sites including walking construction stair ways, and on uneven surfaces in unimproved spaces that may have limited illumination.
