Job Description

The primary objective of the role is to manage the end-to-end quality of fit and design aesthetic for Mens and Womens denim product, and to engineer manufacturing standards into the product to a luxury level. To achieve this you would:

  • Develop block pattern libraries and product refinement standards establishing consistent usage of each across a global vendor base
  • Support the technical design element of product development at sketch launch and during proto fitting stage with the purpose of building quality into the product
  • RISK assessment of product in close collaboration with Raw Materials Quality Management team and on a broader basis with
  • Global Sourcing, Product Development, Fabric and Trim development teams
  • Own and manage the pre-production fitting process through coordinating models, fitting schedules and fit meetings with global vendors in attendance
  •  Effective communication with vendors during the pre-production process ensuring clarity of our fit, construction standards and quality requirements
  • Work cross-functionally across other product categories within Product Engineering team
  •  Visit factories to implement standards and training, and in resolving production issues
  •  Focus on achievement of Critical Path deadlines without compromising Quality
  •  Understand the importance of adopting established Ways of Working but remain committed to continuous improvement of processes and standards
  • Undertake projects in the Quality Management initiative
  • Manage, train and mentor junior and intermediate Product Engineering roles


The ideal candidate would be a recognised technical expert within the luxury denim sector and enjoy working in a fast paced, corporate environment. Key competencies which are essential to succeed in the role are:

  • Excellent knowledge of patternmaking, grading, fit and translating trend awareness across Mens and Womens denim range
  • Ability to lead, influence and manage fittings and meetings
  • Intimate knowledge of factory processes and machinery, AQL, denim manufacturing standards, wet and dry processing, fabric properties, fabric testing and performance
  • Building sound professional relationships across the business and with external partners requiring a proactive, self-motivated and confident approach
  • Self-managing, well developed planning and organisational skills
  • Analytical and innovative approach to problem resolution
  • Sound judgment and ability to make commercial decisions that respect margin implications
  • High level of accuracy
  • PLM/PDM experience, MS Office skills
