Job Description

The role will analyse systems to identify opportunities for improvement and will train internal customers and suppliers to use purchasing systems across the EMEA and Asia Pacific region. 


· Enforce relevant Cummins purchasing policies and procedures with respect to indirect and direct sourcing through the use of electronic sourcing, category and contract management tools 

· Attain and maintain expertise in all aspects of sourcing, with particular focus on E sourcing tools

· Support expanded use of electronic sourcing by direct material purchasing on the Business Unit and International Purchasing Organization levels by establishing, training and managing “rules of the game” in collaboration with super users 

· Regularly attend global indirect Category Management Team meetings to provide input on the proper conduct of proposed sourcing events 

· Oversee creation of sourcing projects (indirect): monitor project creation in management tool, assist sourcing managers in completion of required pre-event tasks 

· Review all indirect sourcing documents for accuracy and completeness prior to launch 

· Initiate and maintain contact – including training – with supplier-participants in indirect sourcing events 

· Conduct tests of electronic events prior to actual launch 

· Launch and monitor supplier interface with system during sourcing events 

· Train purchasing professionals (indirect analysts, sourcing managers, and direct super users) in the use of applicable electronic sourcing tools (Ariba Contract Workbench, Ariba Category Management, Ariba e-Sourcing) 

· Create and analyze usage reports from applicable sourcing management tools helping Corporate Indirect Purchasing reach its performance goals 


- College, university, or equivalent bachelor’s degree or significant experience 

- Analyze issues - Solid understanding of how to analyze issues 

- Demonstrates use of analysis skills to learn and analyze information in a timely way 

- Understands complex concepts and problems and identifies how they relate to key processes 

- Applies accurate logic in solving problems 

- Differentiates what is critical and what is important while not getting bogged down in details 

- Develop systems, processes - Solid understanding of how to develop systems and process 

- Applies systems and processes to improve and complete work at a team/departmental level 

- Works to eliminate system and process inefficiencies and roadblocks 

- Demonstrates consistent use of structured work documentation 

- Internal Stakeholder Customer Service 

- Excellent command of English language, both written & oral is essential. Other language skills would be an advantag
