The Spreads and Dressings role is a senior position in the Category Mix Marketing team of Food Solutions UK & Ireland. Spreads & Dressings are together the largest turnover categories in UFS (€60 million). Spreads is one of five identified strategic growth thrusts for the UK & Ireland business. The role provides an energetic marketer with the opportunity to take real ownership of their category portfolios, work on all elements of the marketing mix, and lead a cross-functional local team to deliver the 12Q category plan. Reporting directly to the Multi Country Organisation (MCO) Category Mix Marketing Director, the position also provides some experience of direct line management.
The role has close contact with the MCO leadership team, the Global Category team, MCO Channel Marketing and Customer Development (CD) teams as well as colleagues in other MCOs. Externally the role involves briefing advertising agencies for local projects as well as working with the UK & Irish PR agencies.
Manage product portfolio (including pricing) driving synergies within and across MCOs
Actively provide MCO insights to help refine global category strategy and responsible for insights that contribute to development of first class category mixes
Category champion and expert working very closely with the Channel Marketing and CD teams – having a true external orientation.
Lead their part of the MCO annual planning cycle through development then execution
Responsible for monitoring competitive environment and evaluating product quality.
Support longer term planning and forecasting all category SKUs (12 months plus)
Deliver activation packs (key visuals and themes) for key projects at cross-channel level enabling channel Marketing to then customise to specific channel needs
Provide product training support to salesforce, support for chain contract tenders & meet key customers if in-depth category expertise is critical
Accountable for brand equity within global guidelines, for maintaining how the brand looks
Close working with global category teams for non-savoury; managing the launch and preparation of gate documents etc
Extensive relevant marketing experience e.g. Product/ Category Manager or Channel Marketing roles. Or relevant Brand Development or Brand Building marketing roles.
