Job Description

Quickly coming up to speed on existing release procedures and logistics and driving key engineering releases. 
Manage Release Managers, Build Managers and Build Engineer team, including management of vendors. 
Manage vendor team and process around hardware procurement requests for Dev, SQA, UAT and Production. 
Management and engagement in global release and readiness processes and connections to the regional stakeholders. 
For new releases, the RM is responsible to obtains feature details for upcoming releases, release pipeline roadmap, ensure tools, content, training, and access for the support agents 
Acts as support readiness interface to the business group and product group. 
Present monthly reviews for your area with leadership and potentially with Service Owner team 
Assist Release Managers in negotiations with Engineering and SD orgs to remove roadblocks, handle escalations and encourage (drive) standards/adoption. 
Meet regularly with Service Owners to reviews issues and initiatives 
Meet regularly with Change and Release Global Process Owners to review adoption rates and provide feedback on the operation of the processes 
Review server initiative progress, especially in regards to technology upgrades and security patching 


Basic Qualifications: 
10+ years of experience in engineering and shipping software or services 
5+ years of experience managing large scale software release projects 
BS/MS degree in computer science or an equivalent technical field 

Preferred Qualifications: 
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as a Program Manager and/or Release Manager responsible for large scale online services release management 
Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to influence and negotiate at executive levels 
Strong technical proficiencies - ability to collaborate, contribute, and execute in very technical workstreams, meetings, etc. 
Ability to drive and operate in fast paced, high pressure forums 
Outstanding partnering and collaboration skills, system level thinking, enabling and leveraging organizational assets towards desired business outcomes 
Attention to detail and data accuracy. Passion for analysis and analytics - ability to drive projects and forums based on real time KPI data
