Stock Assistant Job Description

*Stock assistants are responsible for managing the stock that industries vend for operational purposes.

*This profile also requires the applicant to assist in the stocktaking, monitoring stock and keeping record of the companied stock.

*The stock assistant usually reports to the stock manager and is also liable for maintaining the stock levels of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

*Planning and implementing stocktaking and enlisting activities.

*Compiling stock report and lists for review and records.

*Maintaining necessary levels of stock.

*Inputting stock data into computer programs for maintaining organized records and archives.

*Making checklists for assistance in checking received and shipped goods.

*Counting and sorting of stocks.

*Assisting in packaging and shipping of stock.

*Reporting any discrepancies or damage in stocks to the stock manager.

*Making reports and analysis and recommending suggestion for improving efficiency.

*Replenishing the stockpile of the organization.

*Coordinating with the stock clerks and supervising their workings.

Skills and Specifications

*Knowledge of cataloguing stock techniques and packaging of goods.

*Skills to effectively manage time and meet necessary targets.

*Must possess basic technological knowledge and the skills to operate a PC.

*Must possess impeccable organizational and time management skills.

*Good communication and analytical skills

*Skills to work independently and coordinate with other departments of the organization.

Education and Qualifications

*High school diploma or a GED equivalent qualification is imperative

*Certification or diploma in the field of accounting, bookkeeping, invoicing or data processing gives an edge.

*Working experience of at least 3 – 5 years in stock management activities is preferred.
