Job Description

Leads a local team of IT professionals to provide IT consulting, development , and support for moderate to significant global business solutions for Upstream and ETC Business Enabling Assets. Technologies supported can be diverse, including vendor and in-house built systems in .Net,, C#, VB, SharePoint, SQL Server, Oracle, SSIS, SSRS, etc. These technologies range from outdated to state of the art, requiring a wide breadth of technical knowledge and experience. 

Accountable for ensuring that applications meet Chevron information protection and technical standards, including appropriate documentation and sustaining processes, that these processes align with PAD ALM guidelines and methodologies, and Chevron ITSM and architecture standards, and that adequate support is in place to meet service level agreements. 

Ensure adequate and accurate documentation for system design, configuration, functional and technical specifications, and business processes on all projects as part of hand-off to support.

Conducts appropriate level of performance monitoring and tuning to ensure reliability and availability of applications. 

Provides expected levels of support which may include: handling service requests, monitoring incident details, incident investigation and diagnosis (root cause analysis), detection of possible problems and the resolution and recovery of assigned incidents. 

Resource, manage and deliver on all initiatives such as enhancements, configuration and developments, application patches and upgrades, and extensions of new functionality. 

Develops and monitors service level performance metrics and adjusts resources to correct service level deficiencies. 

Ensure release management processes are adhered to 

Supervises work group, providing clear expectations and performance feedback. Coach and work with employees to optimize performance and develop necessary skills using tools such as PMP, LAP and pay determination. Develop and execute against strategic staffing plan, global recruiting plan, annual PAPD process, and competency development plan for the team. 

Develops and encourages teamwork; encourage diversity, builds collaboration, facilitates conflict resolution, and creates supportive environment by eliminating barriers. Develops people: provides opportunities for training and development, delegates effectively, rewards educated risk taking, and reinforces role model behaviours. Ensure optimal use of resources, matching skill sets to business needs. 

Builds and maintains relationships with US manager and team mates, business partners and key suppliers

Leads the achievement of operational excellence objectives for overall application reliability, security, availability, responsiveness, effectiveness, and operational cost for the team's area of responsibility.



Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other relevant fields

Strong Leadership, High level knowledge on .NET Technology, Excellent customer focus and communication skills, and results-orientation

> 5 years relevant work experience

Highly motivated and a self-starter.


Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a diverse team.


Ability to manage or work on multiple tasks/projects at one time.


Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, prioritize requests, delegate and work well with a team.


Flexible and adaptable in leading a team particularly when priorities shift due to changing situations.


Business/Operation Knowledge: Prior experience and/or exposure to Chevron business processes and operations in Upstream and/or ETC are desired.

Solid understanding of system configuration and integration points of one or more of Chevron's supported applications. 

Good understanding of current technologies-.NET.
