Job Description

The Business
Supply Chain is at the heart of every business, and here is no exception. Think about the daily sourcing of materials from across the world, then think about how these parts are transported into a company, manufactured, and shipped out to customers within demanding lead-times. This is only a highlight of what it means to work in Supply Chain.
Working within the Supply Chain function means delivering a quality product to a satisfied customer - on time, over and over again. The department is therefore a highly important link between our teams involved in product development, production, and most importantly our customers.

This role utilises the Caterpillar Production System (Lean Manufacturing) Principles to deliver People, Quality, Velocity and Cost (PQVC) improvements
Pyroban designs, manufactures, assembles and ships explosion protection systems for internal combustion engines and material handling equipment. Our products are used throughout industry in locations where explosive atmospheres can potentially arise such as on Oil Rigs in powering applications such as generators and compressors, as well as in material handling equipment such as Forklift trucks used widely within Industry. Pyroban is market leader within its field and continues to offer innovative and high quality products.
The continued growth of the organisation is placing great expectations on the Supply Chain function, which is responding by developing in an unprecedented fashion. The transforming process currently underway is moving the function towards a global supply chain, which, in turn offers opportunity for learning, development and advancement as never before.
The Job
A Supply Chain graduate will spend between 18 months and 2 years on the development scheme. Typically, a first year graduate will complete placements in the following roles:
Material Planning: You will analyse part consumption and forecast demand to establish the right materials strategy, developing a Plan For Every Part (PFEP). This includes inventory planning and replenishment strategies As we globalise our operations this role will consider flows to all Pyroban facilities.
Master Production Scheduling (MPS): MPS Planners are responsible for ensuring there is a consistent build programme for the factory. You will manage the planning of a production area, ensuring capacity constraints are met and that customer requirements are fulfilled through the build programme
6 Sigma Project Management: 6 Sigma is part of the way we work. It is a structured improvement methodology, which the business uses to improve and implement new processes. You may be involved in high profile strategic projects, which aim to save significant costs, improve processes or both.
In addition to placements in these areas, you may also spend part of your graduate scheme working in areas such as goods inwards and shipping and transportation management.
You will also be offered the opportunity to take time out of supply chain in order to gain a wider view of the business.

The Person
The ideal applicant will be motivated, open-minded, hard working, and confidant and will embrace change. In return for your dedication and hard work, we will provide excellent career opportunities and strong support for your personal and career development.

A successful Supply Chain Graduate is likely to have studied one of the following:
Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Management Sciences, Process Engineering, Manufacturing. If you have studied in a different area you are still welcome to apply - a passion for this scheme is what is important.
