Travel insurance agents help their customers or companies to choose travel insurance policy according to their need. They can work for a brokerage firm, insurance companies and agencies or can work as can individual travel insurance agent. The purpose of travel insurance is to reimburse the trip cost or the prepaid expenses in case if any unforeseen emergency take place while travelling.
A travel insurance agent helps a company or an individual to choose the best travel insurance policy as per their needs and requirements.
Apart from selling an insurance policy, they must seek new clients for other works, maintain records and prepare reports.
They are also responsible for selling other financial product related to the insurance policies.
They must stay, up to date with all the latest travel insurance laws and policies.
A travel insurance agent must talk to their clients regarding the pros as well as cons of various policies.
All the papers related to travel insurance policy must be kept safe by him till the completion of the journey.
Skills and Specifications:
A travel insurance agent must be specialized in his field of insurance.
He must posses good communication skill, as interaction with the client is the main part of this job.
He must have good interpersonal skills.
Minimum of HND from any accredited institution, with NYSC discharge certificate.
