Job Description

The Working Capital Manager is a senior management role, accountable for contributing to the strategic leadership and operational performance in relation to fees management across WSP Middle East (ME)



Business Leadership

• Responsible for the leadership and support of their team
• Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies
• Ensure the right resources are utilised effectively at the right time across their team and projects
• Support the leadership of recruitment and selection strategies
• Conduct meaningful inductions, performance management reviews and personal development plans that support the development of individuals and the business
• Contribute to succession planning and career development across their team
• Support the development and delivery of training and awareness session as required
• Contribute to the development and drive the implementation of the business unit
(BU) strategy
• Prepare a report for the monthly Discipline Leadership Team (DLT) meetings to share information on working capital management with the aim of driving business performance
• Attend and contribute to quarterly senior management meetings
• Attend and lead team and project meetings, cascade relevant information and encourage feedback from team
• Contribute to the setting and delivering P&L BU budget and forecasts
• Engage with peer group and contribute to industry events and associations
• Lead by example and ensure QMS and Project lifecycle compliance across their team and projects
• Provide leadership and guidance on the companies approach to Sustainability and ensure that the Sustainability strategy is implemented within the BU

Business Development

• Proactively support business development activities through participation in external market profile raising activities and functions
• Actively develop external and internal client relationships
• Proactively co sell other WSP ME services and where applicable the wider business
• Contribute to the Global Account Management (GAM) and Key Account Management (KAM) programmes, with the aim of increasing
client intelligence to develop win solutions and support unique selling points
for prospect.
• Engage with the companies external clients as required to maximise the companies working capital position and to complete the contract negotiation process


• Provide leadership and support on working capital management
• Drive and manage the delivery of working capital management from inception to completion within set deadlines across the
business. Including contributing to invoicing and cash collection budgets, forecasts and targets.
• Support the consolidation and submission of project final accounts
• Responsibility for administration activities including maintenance of the debt diary and all information related to cash and in respect
to contracts
• Responsible for the provision of management information in respect to cash collection in conjunction with other members of the commercial and financial team
• Keep up to date with industry developments with respect to own discipline, other disciplines and engineering innovations and
developments on a global scale
• Initiate and support the technical capabilities of the BU and the company wide business
• Maintain contact with key technical leaders across WSP offices and around the world
• Provide support and guidance to Technical Working Group (TWG) if requried
• Drive innovation and utilise technological advancement


• Degree qualified with minimum 15 years post graduate experience
• Member of associated Professional body
• A proven track record in the construction sector in respect to contracts and financial management
• Experienced user of Microsoft Office, particularly excel
