Plan, manage and implement the Workplace Health & Safety (WH&S) strategy of the Emirates Group, whilst ensuring the implementation of industry best practice in the area of Workplace Health & Safety. The primary goal is to minimise personal injuries, asset damage and productivity losses from workplace safety events. The role holder is required to plan, manage and develop reactive, proactive and predictive activities to build a safer working environment and a strong safety culture within the Group, and its subcontractors.
Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
Recognised qualification in the area of Health & Safety such as OHSAS 18001
Recognised qualifications in the area of incident investigation would be an advantage.
Minimum of 8 years in a Health & Safety related Position, including at least 5 years management experience in the airline industry, petrochemical, manufacturing, or similar field with a major emphasis on workplace health & safety is essential.
Experience in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures related to WH&S across a global network using multiple requirements would be an advantage.
Ability to develop and implement Health and Safety Policies, satisfying the requirements of regulatory agencies of respective countries on the Emirates network.
Ability to conduct and produce reports technical investigations after accidents and incidents to determine their cause.
Writing high quality structured technical documents and reports.
Developing and presentation of domain specific training to all levels of staff
A high level of computer literacy is required.
Knowledge of global health and safety regulations and requirements.
Knowledge of Airline Ground, Cargo and Engineering operations
