About First Cardiology consult (FCC)
Our vision is: "To set the standard of excellence in medical care in Africa"
The premise behind the creation of FCC is that the Nigerian market is mature and sophisticated enough to sustain locally, the same quality of cardiovascular healthcare services currently sought by Nigerians abroad. There are several antecedent observations that justify this premise
The last 2 decades have seen a rapid growth of excellent healthcare services in India, Malaysia, Thailand and South Africa. Each of these developing countries has managed to create their brands of healthcare that are affordable to their local population
Nigeria has a tremendous pool of her indigenes scattered in the diaspora with high-level technical expertise in cardiovascular care. The America-based Association of Black cardiologists (ABC) - an umbrella organization for minority cardiologists of African Ancestry have over 35% of its members who are of Nigerian ancestry. The two cardiologists that are the founding partners of FCC are members of ABC who are determined to create an environment conducive for other highly trained medical professionals to participate and thrive in Nigeria.
The critical global influx of indigenous intellectual input is expected to facilitate the coalescence of technical expertise in terms of funded research. Research is a core goal of FCC and is critical for promotion of the activities of the brand. Our goal is to compete for and participate in international multi-center clinical trials. The abundance of untreated clinical pathologies in Nigeria will be leveraged to make FCC competitive in securing participation in funded research
