Category Manager (Qualifier 2 - Hardware, Office, Windows, Xbox)

Create retail marketing strategy that optimizes the consumer journey and experiences for our partners to drive, our share, revenue, and category profit while building consumer preference for Microsoft products. This category expert has a unique perspective - across channels - to enable a higher-level, consumer marketing strategy; and offers subject matter expertise to our partners to increase joint successes within a product category. They create marketing strategies that optimize the consumer journey across CCG channels to drive share, revenue, category profit and customer preference for Microsoft products

Job Responsibilites

Key Responsibilities:
Analysis & Insight
- Assess industry & market trends & understand the consumer
- Extensive product knowledge of both Microsoft and competitors
- Incorporation of new concepts into marketing strategy
Strategic Business Planning
- Create strategic business objectives & influence assortment & merchandising
- Create category planning across all consumer touch points
- Coordinate partner segmentation & prioritization & executing against the product life cycle
Retail Marketing Principles
- Develop integrated marketing plans & Measure execution and ROI
- Strategic marketing objectives in-store and online while Ensuring positioning & messaging
Consultative Leadership
- Influence partners with category expertise in parallel with the product business groups
- Drive the sales motion across the channels

Business Operational Excellence
- Execute against retail budgets
- Demonstrate creativity and entrepreneurial behavior

- Direct and indirect leadership with outcomes
- Influence across boundaries - Impact and Influence w/o Authority
- Ensure that your Category Managers land and localize the positioning and messaging frameworks for the business group.
- Evangelize Microsoft’s overall strategy and direction - internally and externally - by aligning value proposition information with target audience, brand personality, and desired attitude change.
- Monitor the consistency and successful builds of the product brand attributes and promise across multiple campaigns, across multi fiscal years.
- Continually innovate on amplifying the impact and reach of the Category Manager team

Job Requirements

Experiences Required:
- 10+ years relevant consumer experience in Sales/Marketing/Supply Chain Mgmt, ideally at other devices companies (e.g. Apple, Samsung)
- Proven success at business building (business/channel development, entrepreneur, change management)
- Retailer buyer experience and functional depth (marketing, channels, partner-focused)

- Four Year college degree required - MBA preferred
