Job Summary

Our IT Advisory team sits within our Performance Improvement service line. Members of the team provide the technology expertise necessary to help our broader Performance Improvement team deliver our clients' most challenging change programmes. 
Within IT Advisory, Ernst & Young are building a fast growing and market leading team in Application and Data Transformation (ADT) that will deliver high value advisory services which enable our clients to improve business performance by removing technology complexity. 

The team brings industry expertise together with delivery background to provide high value advisory services in application and data transformation, rationalisation and modernisation. We provide strategic direction to the largest and most complex change programmes in the Financial Services industry. 

A manager would be expected to work in multiple client engagements and other related activities to highest levels of quality and professionalism, providing clients with solutions based on practical knowledge of client environment, industry and best practices. Lead / participate in engagement teams, works with a wide variety of clients to assist clients to deliver professional services, and is expected to Spot / generate new business opportunities by developing ideas and solutions to present to clients. 

Job Responsibilites

General Roles & Responsibilities: 
Managers carry out assigned responsibilities as part of a team on client engagements, or they have responsibilities similar to a Senior Manager, but working on smaller clients.

  • Manage engagements including managing their individual time; scheduling and assigning work and monitoring the progress of fieldwork; and proposing timely billings and collection strategies, and continuing to learn the economics of the practice; arranging projects, ensuring appropriate resources are applied to achieve required deliverables within a given timeframe and budget.
  • Discuss complex technical issues with the engagement team and client management.
  • Identify sales opportunities for services, serves as a trusted business advisor on client matters, and works effectively with varying client personalities and working styles.

  • Contribute to the profitable growth by ensuring clients engagements are executed in an efficient manner.
  • Identify and follow up on opportunities to provide new services.
  • Begins to extend network in business community, building beyond the immediate work group and client contacts
  • Focus on developing targeted accounts and key potential clients
  • Maximize revenue from existing clients and explore opportunities in the market.
  • Participate in targeted clients' team meetings with other service lines.
  • Ensure effective time utilization of EY team.
  • Keep current on the market and monitor developments by competitors.

  • Provides and demonstrates value to clients. Commits to meeting clients expectations
  • Contributes to client satisfaction by providing clients with timely, responsive, value-added services that meet and/or exceed client expectations
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of complex technical concepts, applies technical knowledge to client situations
  • Utilize existing business relationships to develop business opportunities.
  • Endeavour to become the trusted advisor of clients - be seen in the market place and be recognized as a solutions provider.
  • Develop new and refine existing EY products to meet with clients and market requirements, yet comply with EY risk management policies.
  • Develop the opportunities to participate and contribute at conferences, seminars and author articles, where relevant.

  • To ensure compliance with the firm's policies and guidance, and adherence to professional standards.
  • Responsible for day-to-day communications and workflow for client portfolio.
  • Provides creative solutions, scopes major projects or engagements, and develops and delivers a quality practical project plan.
  • Arrives at appropriate engagement conclusions and recommendations, and consistently makes quality decisions in the more complex or judgmental areas after consulting with partners, when appropriate.
  • Ensure engagements are executed in accordance with the firm's methodologies, guidance and professional standards.
  • Ensure of the technical quality of all client deliverables.
  • Manage risk to the firm by adhering to the risk management policies and procedures and ensuring significant risks are identified and addressed.
  • Maintain contacts with various subject matter experts and solution teams from other offices to leverage inter-office expertise and experience.
  • Comply with EY policies and procedures and play a leadership role in educating others in your team (engagement acceptance, risk management, admin, etc.)

  • A first level university degree.
  • A professional qualification degree, MBA, CA, CFA, CIMA.
  • A track record of developing / spotting new business opportunities
