Job Description:

• To be proactive rather than reactive in every aspect of Front Office operational activity to ensure consistency in the sense of delivery and quality of both product and service.
• Generally to carry out directives and decisions of the senior management and policies of the hotel and policies of as a whole.
• Achieve monthly budgeted occupancies, average room rates, revenues, market share, market mix and rate mix.
• Manage rates properly by updating current rates and inform relevant personnel i.e. reservations, reception, switchboard, debtors and sales.
• Manage yields by looking ahead for opportunities to either close or open discounts as may be dictated by occupancies.
• Preparation of weekly and monthly forecasts to present to weekly management meetings i.e. weekly occupancy, average room rates, revenue per occupied room, department costs etc. All of these must be presented against budget, both current and cumulative.
• Thorough check of night audit report: Out of order rooms and why. Complimentary rooms, that they are supported by authority of the GM or his deputy or secretary in GM’s absence. Walk ins, no shows, extensions, early checkouts.
• Ensure that guests are greeted, checked in and allocated rooms promptly, courteously and all billing to be correct. Registration cards must have Supervisor’s or Front Office

Required Skills or Experience
• Manager’s signature as validation BSc in Hospitality Management/HND in Hotel Management from a recognized Institution.
• Minimum of two years experience in similar position
