Job Summary

We at Al Tayer Group are looking for an IT Portfolio Manager with our IT Planning & Projects team who shall liaise and work with internal / external Project Managers across a portfolio of projects at Corporate/ Business Units (BUs), to ensure they are planned, managed and co-ordinated effectively to ensure delivery on time, cost and quality expectations and also lead delivery of specific initiatives that directly improve the quality and consistency of project management within Al Tayer Group.

Job Responsibilites

As an IT Portfolio Manager you shall Participate, as and when required, in the development of the programme and project management policies and procedures framework, Determine project scope, requirements, benefits, stakeholders and deliverables that support business goals, in collaboration with senior management/ stakeholders and according to PMO standards, ensure that key project management deliverables are understood and planned for during initiation and mobilisation phase, Establish project management processes and performance standards, communicate the same to internal and external project leads, Embed and support regular project progress reporting cycles  and ensure that a change management strategy is in place for each project in concurrence with relevant business and IT stakeholders.

Job Requirements

As an IT Portfolio Manager, you shall have a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Business or IT with a tertiary qualification in project management or business consulting with accredited portfolio, programme or project management qualification(s) such as MoP, PRINCE2, MSP or PMP. You will have minimum 7 years experience in significant portfolio, programme or project management roles.


As an applicant you would have a proven track record of project delivery and/or running or maintaining a PMO for transformation programmes and Practical experience in the areas of business case development, benefits realisation and change management.  You would have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and facilitate group meetings with senior stakeholders and external vendors, with Knowledge of IT systems  Excellent people management and communication skills, the ability to engage, lead and motivate teams. And the ability to manage multiple parallel projects.
