We are currently searching for a Litigation Assistant for our HR Legal team at Sky. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy team that advises on all aspects of employment law. It will be on a Fixed Term Contract basis, likely to be six months at this stage.
Working within a small specialist team of three lawyers you will support the senior legal advisors by: Taking primary responsibility for contesting unfair dismissal claims including drafting the defence, proofing witnesses, disclosure, preparation of bundles and instructing counsel; Supporting the senior legal advisors to prepare for complex cases; and Supporting the team on general employment queries. You will also be required to contribute to team training and know how, as well as to undertake some legal research.
As a Litigation Assistant in the HR Legal team you will be a confident and approachable team player. You will have excellent ‘soft’ skills including the ability and desire to communicate effectively and develop strong relationships with the business; you will also have strong technical skills including drafting, negotiation and the ability to think laterally. Given the demanding workload, the ability to organise, prioritise and meet deadlines are also key. Whilst direct relevant experience in employment law is not essential, a background in or exposure to litigation is necessary.
