Job Summary

Manager OS&E Procurement, Hotel Openings & Integration, Middle East, Africa and India
This position Manages procurement for new hotels and those being transitioned by providing overall project oversight services for Projects purchased by others, in the Middle East, Africa and India (MEAI) Region

Job Responsibilites

Reporting to the Vice President, Hotel Openings and Transitions, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage procurement for New Builds and Transitions by providing overall project oversight services for Projects purchased by others
  • Work together with Third Party Purchasing Agents for New Builds and Transitions and purchase projects jointly per project requirements and agreed roles and responsibilities
  • Manage communications between Owner, Hotel, Corporate Departments and Vendors throughout preopening phase
  • Provide ongoing guidance and support to Owners to meet brand standards and opening date
  • Manage and procure selected OS&E (based on each project scope) for assigned projects from start to finish to meet project timelines and approved budget for New Builds & Transitions
  • Follow Standard Operation Procedures and adhere to brand quality standards, brand processes and budget guidelines
  • Provide quality assurance for key items
  • Set up meetings, create meeting agendas and provide meeting minutes to track project progress
  • Monitor and track project through review and issuance of relevant reports and provide corrective actions and strategies to bring project on track in terms of delivery and budget
  • Provide ongoing value add services to support purchasing strategy
  • Work together with colleagues as a team to overall success of projects in pipeline
  • Communicate effectively and proactively with project team members and contracted FRHI supplier partners
  • Attend new build site meetings as required
  • Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years projects management experience in a purchasing or project based business environment
  • Possess purchasing expertise and local sources for the Middle East Region
  • Fluent in English, additional languages, including Arabic would be an asset
  • Product knowledge in Operating, Supplies & Equipment (OS&E) is an asset
  • Hotel Operations experience in Rooms, Food & Beverage, Operations and/or Spa is an asset
  • Possess above average and professional communications skills
  • Self motivated with strong organizational skills and accountable to meet commitments
  • Able to multi task, work with a sense of urgency and prioritize in a fast paced environment
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel is mandatory.  Proficiency in Microsoft Project is an asset.  Able to type 50 wpm accurately
  • Attention to detail, deadline driven, personable and team oriented
  • University Degree or Community College diploma or equivalent experience
  • Purchasing Certificate or currently enrolled in a Purchasing Program an asset
