Job Description

  • To manage timely and cost effective delivery of all Network and upgrade Activities.
  • To Manage all Suppliers to ensure that they deliver project requirements to fit with the delivery quality and timescales.
  • To manage Event finances for the project, to ensure that both the Capex and Opex Budgets are managed within targets.
  • Ensure that Telefonica O2 is compliant with all Health and Safety requirements.
  • You will be required to attend regular meeting across various locations
  • Each Manager will own a weekly Upgade Event (an Event will be a list of sites that need to be upgraded in a specified week) and will need to ensure it is managed through to completion.
  • Assist in the clearing of issues that Suppliers and Vendor may raise as a product of their survey pre-event. These will relate to the Acquisition, Design and Build of the sites in the Event.
  • Manage all issues associated with ensuring Vendors are ready for each event. E.g. Correct engineer on site, correct stores ordered, access booked, outages booked and approved e.t.c.
  • Ensure Telefonica O2 Warehouse are aware of all kit requirements for each event.
  • Ensure IEP Data is updated with correct Q codes.
  • Ensure Transmission planning is completed and transmission plans built (also manage scheduling of lift and shift etc)
  • Ensure Fixed and Core network databuild resources are scheduled and manage task completion.
  • Ensure Radio Databuild scripts are created and delivered.
  • Manage Radio Optimisation interface for KPI measurement and Event Optimisation if required
  • Manage interface with OMC/NMC and ensure resources are scheduled.
  • Ensure timely delivery of Databuild and that recipient checks and confirms it is in the correct format and fit for purpose.
  • Manage all issues which arise daily with Vendor. E.g. Access issues, plans issues, comms issue, MGX issues, vehicle breakdowns e.t.c.
  • Ensure declared activities are recorded as 'completed' on IEP.
  • Work with Vendor to revisit sites which have been upgraded with outstanding faults to get cleared enabling "P/A"ref.
  • Manage Amdocs/Remedy inbox for faults, ensuring any Telefonica O2 related cases are assigned correctly for sites in or from your event.
  • Ensure all tracking milestones which have been agreed are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Commumicate effectively with all Managers, and Suppliers and able to effectively communicate with the Delivery Team in general.
  • These are linked with last minute chasing of outstanding issues where site is in an event.
  • Support any adhoc request for additional upgrade work which has not been forecast in our yearly targets.


  • Individuals must be generally competent in the acquisition, planning, construction and legal process and in the Design and Build Process and Procedures.
  • Good Managerial skill as role requires high level of motivation, leadership and rapid decision making.
  • Fully proficient in management of delivery of all radio site types.
  • Preferably Proficient in the use of OMNIX, NFS and Amdocs.
  • Knowledge of radio principles and network quality.
  • Understanding of safety responsibilities and company policies for the environment.
  • A working knowledge of Contract law with consultants and Contractors.
  • Knowledge of budgets, estimates, contract sums and financial controls.
  • Safety of designs.  NRPB Recommendations.  Aware of British Standards. CDM regulations.
  • Be willing to work away from normal office location at short notice.
  • Full driving licence.
