Job Description


To review and enhance analysis in order to identify and assess non-compliance risks
Assess potential risk areas and recommend compliance interventions.


• Review and enhance the analysis of basic/non complex industries, individual entities and their application of tax products.
• Recommend risk findings to the National Risk Committee and/or input to the further risk analysis
• To provide accurate identification of potential risk so that the Assurance and/or Taxpayer Interface resources are used appropriately
• Ensure that there is accurate and reliable risk identification and analysis to guide compliance activities
• Keep abreast of risk and compliance trends and changes to the risk environment. Develop expertise in an industry and an area of specialty
• Interact with peers to share knowledge and experience
• Ensure that risk identification is completed timely to fulfill the requirements of the audit plan
• Enhance the predefined risk standards and processes
• Enhance risk reports and present to National Risk Committee.

Qualifications and Experience:
Relevant post-graduate qualification with a minimum of 5 years experience in an analytical environment, or a minimum of 9 years in an analysis environment.

The ideal candidate will have the following competencies:

• Oversee the analysis of applicable tax laws and regulations, and application thereof
• Stay abreast of changes in the tax laws
• Review assurance results to assess risk efficacy and enhance risk process
• To provide accurate identification of potential risk so that the Assurance and/or Taxpayer Interface resources are used appropriately
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations
• Manage and maintain essential records, reports and files
• Organize and supervise routine and complex technical tax audits
• Oversee the preparation of tax, financial and other reports containing conclusions and recommendations
• Review and enhance the analysis of complex industries, taxpayer groups’ application of tax products and recommend risk findings to the National Risk Committee.
• Review the impact on the wider industry or compliance trend
• Excellent verbal communication
