Key Responsibilities

• Be familiar with the scope of works of contract requirements.
• Coordinating and cooperating with Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company (ADSSC) staff every time during site inspections.
• Reviewing the Contractor’s Quality Plan (QP) and provides any recommendations to the site Project Manager (PM).
• Ensuring contractor compliance with the QP.
• Developing systems for approving the payment certificates (Milestones, Cost to completion and Quality testing regime) and obtain agreement of Contractor.
• Reviewing any design modifications and accept or reject accordingly, with written respond to contractors.
• Providing approvals and directions as required by the Engineer.
• Monitoring the Contractor’s Programme and progress and report any program delays immediately to the PM or the project team.
• Performing Completion Services (prepare snag lists, follow up and close out, etc) in respect of: Completion Certificate Final Acceptance Certificate.
• Checking the final quantities and final payment certificate.
• Performing contract administrative services (document management, as-built drawings, contractual correspondence, etc.)
• Performing day to day general technical assignments related to the scope of services and in accordance with the ADSSC contract as directed by the Project Company General Manager.
• Undertaking any quality assurance checks and forms as required for the construction site.
• Health and safety (HS) checks on the contractor and report back to the client.
• Assisting the office design team in assessing design works constructability, and address any site or construction constraints that may affect the design parameters Organizing and phase the duties of the Assistant Resident Engineer and site Inspectors as necessary.
• Maintaining a record of staff leaves and report to main office.
• Reviewing any inspection reports of the newly installed infrastructure networks.
• Drafting variation orders and passes them to the Project Manager as soon as possible.
• Maintaining a detailed history of the construction works and of significant happenings on the site, and submit regular periodic progress reports to the Site Project Manager (PM).
• Reviewing methods proposed by the contractor for executing the work (permanent and temporary) and provide recommendations as necessary.
• Attending all site meetings related to the ADSSC pipe installations and prepares written minutes for distribution.
• Reviewing all contractor correspondence and prepare responses as necessary.
• Undertaking any testing and verification works including commissioning requirements as necessary of the finished infrastructure works.
• Studying contractor’s claims and prepare a draft claim report and submit to the PM for approval.
• Checking and approving as-built drawings submitted by the Contractor, including any verification and reporting works to the client.
• Preparing for the hand-over of the contract(s) works.
