Job Summary

The Advisory Services business is a fast-growing division within Ernst & Young. A dynamic group focused on providing high value independent, trusted advice to clients, with a focus on business transformation programmes. The key to our success will be in helping these clients solve difficult business issues throughout a range of areas from finance to business performance, re-engineering to programme assurance. 


Large projects and programmes are inherently complex and often critical to an organisation meeting its business goals and objectives. This complexity, and the mounting regulatory requirements for disclosure and transparency, is putting managers and sponsors under increasing pressure to demonstrate delivery against expectations and value for money criteria. 

We work with clients to reduce the risk of programme failure and improve confidence in the successful delivery of anticipated benefits. Through independent assessment we help to reduce unwanted surprises by identifying critical risks in time to make informed decisions and avoid costly overruns. Working with a range of clients we assist with designing and implementing major projects across a variety of markets and sectors. 


Our clients include many of today's leading global companies, innovative growth companies and major government departments. They also include large companies within our national and regional markets. We are thus looking for candidates with strong client/market focuses and expertise that we can leverage into our clients. In specific we are looking for senior consultants with a strong insight into one of the following;

· Industrial Products 
· Technology, Communications & Entertainment 
· Healthcare 

Job Requirements
We are seeking individuals with consulting experience or individuals who have gained significant project and business improvement experience within large recognised businesses. In particular we are interested in candidates with a proven track record in any of the following:- 
· Managing large scale Projects and Programmes 
· Providing advice and guidance on Projects and Programmes 
· Managing or working in a Programme Management Office (PMO) 
· Auditing Projects and Programmes across industry sectors 

Coupled with technical knowledge and experience in one or more of the above fields, the candidate should also have experience working in, and demonstrate an affinity towards, one or more of the following industry sectors - Infrastructure & Transport, Defence, Energy, Utilities or Telecommunication. 

Working as a Senior Consultant in our London practice your primary focus will be to help in delivering complex programme audit and programme control assignments across a diverse portfolio of clients and industries. The ability to deliver tangible business results whilst at the same time, nurturing and building client relationships for the longer term is essential. In addition to delivering excellence to our clients, you will also be expected to provide assistance in sales pursuits and proposals. Desired Skills & Experience Academic Qualifications Required:
  • Primary Degree (2.1) or above, from a leading university
  • Prince2 qualified

  • Professional Experience Required:
  • Currently working in either: global management consultancy firm or within industry- with an appropriate programme management background.

  • Core Consulting Competencies:
  • Able to establish personal credibility with clients; is professional in conduct and demonstrates expertise in a number of technical areas and has past solutions experience
  • Plans and coordinates own workload and that of other team members, meeting deadlines, and quality and risk objectives
  • Adds value by delivering work of the highest quality and is able to proactively overcome issues to ensure delivery.
  • Finds logical or innovative solutions to complex or unusual Client problems.
  • Continuously builds and masters key technical, functional and professional skills and is proactive in sharing / building knowledge within the team.
  • Encourages collaboration and knowledge sharing that impact performance of team members.
