Waste Transfer Station Operative (Graduates Welcome) Full Time

You will join a team responsible for the day-to-day operation of our client's transfer station to ensure smooth and effective functionality. You will receive consignments of waste, complete transfer notes, detect and raise non-conformances and inspect, identify and segregate waste deliveries.
In this varied and rewarding role, you will complete waste delivery documentation and sign-off notes, oversee the safe operation of forklift trucks and operate waste processing equipment effectively. You will also list, segregate and pack waste for collection on consumer sites and collect small consignments of waste.
Additionally, you will prepare loads for dispatch removal, help to ensure the cleanliness of the yard, ensure the smooth functionality of the office area and promote high standards of safety.
- Experience of transfer station waste management, including handling hazardous materials OR a degree in chemistry or an environmental related discipline
- A full driving licence
- You must be a strong communicator and team player, with the ability to work using your own initiative. Methodical and analytical, you must be able to work effectively to deadlines within a fast paced environment. A flexible approach to work is also key.
-A forklift licence would be beneficial to your application, however this is by no means essential as, for the right candidate, training will be provided.
- This role will involve working outside and within environments where protective suits and respirators are necessary.
